FAQ on Poster Presentations

What am I asked to prepare?

Due to the high number of posters, there is a change of hard copy posters that are hung up. To ensure that your work still receives the attention it deserves, you are asked to prepare:

  1. Printed paper/hard copy poster (A0, portrait format)
  2. Digital poster (pdf of paper poster)
  3. Recorded video-pitch (3-4 min)
Are the hard copy poster, digital poster, and video upload mandatory?
  • It is mandatory to bring a paper/hard copy poster.
  • It is not absolutely mandatory to upload this file, but it would also be rather silly as you have prepared it anyway.
  • It is also not mandatory to upload the video pitch, but highly recommended: in addition to the extra attention, it also helps you practise your presentation.

Keep in mind: your paper poster is not on display for the entire congress. Without the digital version and the video you significantly reduce visibility of your work.

Where will the digital poster and the video be published?

Both are only published in the EMIM App and are available for EMIM attendees only.

How does all that help to increase visibility?
  • Attendees can contact you via the EMIM App – even outside the scheduled poster sessions.
  • This is more likely, the more information on your work is available.
  • Some participants prefer to look at your printed poster, others prefer the digital version, others prefer to listen to your presentation – make the most of it!
What happens during the poster session?
  • Be present at your poster at the scheduled time of the poster session.
  • All participants are invited to come along and discuss your work with you.
  • Independent of this, two chairpersons are going to evaluate your poster: be prepared to present your project in about 3 to 4 minutes to them.
  • Poster sessions are divided into thematic poster walks (PW 01-30). An award for the best poster per walk will be presented during the Closing Session on Friday 15 March. Make sure to be there!
When do I have to hang/take down my poster?
  • The display of your poster depends on the poster session you are scheduled to present in:
  • Case 1 – You are scheduled to present in Poster Session I on Wednesday 13 March 2024
  • Hanging the poster: Tuesday morning
  • Taking down: right after the poster session on Wednesday.
  • Case 2 – You are scheduled to present in Poster Session II on Friday 15 March 2024
  • Hanging the poster: Thursday morning
  • Taking down: right after the poster session on Friday

You can store your poster at the cloakroom, please make sure to keep your spot/poster board area cleared.
