The main goal of the German young Molecular Imaging Community – GyMIC is to create and strengthen a national network of young imaging scientists that provides an easy and informal entry into the field and the international environment of the ESMI.

Since 2017, GyMIC organizes a yearly symposium to provide young imaging scientists an informal platform to present their work and enter the community. The annual meeting was established by the former Interdisciplinary German Network Molecular Imaging and was successfully hosted in Aachen (2017), Göttingen (2018), Münster (2019), virtually (2021), Leipzig (2022),Tübingen (2023) and Würzburg (2024). For our next meeting we plan to revisit Göttingen on 9 and 10 October!
Looking back @ GyMIC goes Röntgen in Würzburg
We met for a common nightwatcher tour on Sunday 27 October 2024 and started with our one-day, open science, and networking event on Monday morning.
We enjoyed scientific talks and learned about different career paths, explored the local lab, discussed, and learned a lot about the often unconcious problem of “unconcious bias” and ended the day with a common excursion to the “Röntgen Memorial“.
Thanks to all participants and speakers. A big thanks to Mediso, MILabs, and nanoPET for their financial support, and to Andreas Buck – Director of the Nuclear Medicine Department @ Uni Würzburg – for hosting us!
