Meet the Keynote Speakers
Jason Holland, Institute of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Zurich
Research at the Holland Lab is highly interdisciplinary. Projects lie at the interface of chemistry, biochemistry and translational molecular medicine. The primary aims are to explore interesting new ways of attaching radionuclides to different chemical structures, and simultaneously to develop new imaging agents that can measure biomarker expression for monitoring therapy in cancers and other human diseases.
Jessica Bastiaansen, Quantitative MR Imaging Science Lab at the University of Bern
She and her group focus on innovating MRI through the development of novel approaches for off-resonance encoding and decoding. This enables the untanglement of multi-compartment signal sources, the generation of artifact-free images, and the universal dissemination across field strengths. The ultimate goal is to derive novel biomarkers of disease, and to advance our understanding of how diseases work to improve their diagnosis and therapy..
Who we are and why you should join
We are the young Swiss Molecular Imaging Community (SwyMIC): a pioneering imaging science community in Switzerland run by early-career researchers who promotes the formation of a strong network of ECR’s working in the broad and multidisciplinary field of imaging science. Since its foundation in 2021, SwyMIC is one of the driving forces of the youngESMI initiative.
We are particularly offering MSc/PhD students and early career post-docs an easy and informal entry into the broader international imaging community. In this sense, SwyMIC pursue to attract early career imaging scientists to the “mother” society – the ESMI.
