CONNECT – INSPIRE – LEARN – PRESENT

join us in Göttingen for our GyMIC event 2025 on 9 & 10 October!

It is our great pleasure to invite you to Göttingen for a one-and-a-half-day, open-science, and networking event hosted and organized by the German young Molecular Imaging Community (GyMIC) – the German young ESMI group.

This year we’ll meet directly adjacent to the Symposium on AI in Healthcare (6-8 Oct.) to enhance interaction and mutual benefit.

WHEN? Thursday 9 – Friday 10 October 2025
Start: 10.00h
End: around noon on Friday

WHERE? Max-Planck-Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences – City Campus (Hermann-Rein-Straße 3, Göttingen)

WHO? The event is primarily designed for early-career investigators, but participation is in no way limited.

WHAT? Join us for a perfect blend of scientific exchange, mutual learning, community strengthening, and informal networking.

We’ll enjoy scientific talks, learn about different career paths, explore the local labs, hear about translational challenges, and will have plenty of time for discussion.

Moreover, we’ll hear, discuss, and learn in hands-on workshops how to build strategic networks and deal with career anxiety. Learn more about the programme here.

You are welcome to bring your work as a poster (A0 portrait format, no abstract necessary) and put it up for discussion over lunch.

Who we are and why you should join

We are the young German Molecular Imaging Community (GyMIC): a pioneering imaging science community in Germany run by early-career researchers who promotes the formation of a strong network of ECR’s working in the broad and multidisciplinary field of imaging science. Since its foundation in 2018, GyMIC has been one of the driving forces of the youngESMI initiative.

We offer particularly MSc/PhD students and early career post-docs an easy and informal entry into the broader international imaging community. As such, GyMIC aims to attract young imaging scientists to the “mother society” – the ESMI.
