A Day of Science, Innovation & Connections

Chat&Science 2026 by yITAMIC brings together students and early-career researchers in molecular imaging for a day of inspiring science, interdisciplinary exchange, and networking. Meet peers, discover new research, and build collaborations in an interactive environment.

Scientific Programme

Explore the latest advances in molecular imaging and biomedical research, with invited talks spanning cutting-edge technologies and applications.

Selected abstracts will be featured in an oral presentation session, with presenters competing for a free registration to the EMIM 2027 in Bologna.

Poster Session

Share your research, discuss ideas, and connect with fellow participants during an interactive poster session designed to foster scientific exchange and future collaborations. Prizes for the top posters will be presented.

Who we are and why you should join

WHY? Enjoy a unique environment for (Italian) early-career imaging scientists to engage with peers and leaders in the field. Create, enlarge, and establish a strong community, foster colloborations, disseminate and enjoy the infinite possibilities of imaging science.

WHO? The Chat & Science Day is organized by Italian young ESMI Group and thus, the focus is on young(er) investigators, but participation is in no way limited to early-carrer scientists. In contrary: we aim to provide an informal platform for collaboration and exchange – also between generations!

WHO WE ARE? We are the young Italian Molecular Imaging Community – yITAMIC: a young, pioneering imaging science community in Italy who promotes the formation of a strong national network of young(-er) imaging scientists. yITAMIC is a youngESMI group and embedded into the international environment of the European Society for Molecular Imaging – ESMI . Accordingly, all yITAMIC activities are organized under the umbrella of the ESMI.

We offer MSc/PhD students and early career post-docs particularly, an easy and informal entry into the broader international imaging community. In this sense, yITAMIC aims to attract young imaging scientists to the “mother” society – the ESMI.
