The young Spanish Molecular Imaging Network (ySMIN) cordially invites you to Aveiro (Portugal) for their 7th ySMIN Day!
This year will be extra special – for the first time ever, we are joining forces with our Portuguese colleagues to create a unique Iberian imaging science experience!
The ySMIN Day will be at the same time a pre-EMIM meeting which means, you’ll have the unique opportunity to submit and practice your work accepted for presentation at the upcoming EMIM 2026 in Ljubljana. But presentations and registrations are not restricted to EMIM presenters/attendees!

WHO? The meeting is open to all who are interested in joining:
- EMIM attendees – you can submit your abstract accepted for presentation at the EMIM 2026 in Ljubljana and practice your presentation.
- Non-EMIM attendees – just submit an abstract and present your work.
- Independent from EMIM attendance – just join, enjoy presentations, and enlarge your network.

Abstract Submission
a) You can submit your abstract accepted for presentation at the EMIM 2026 in Ljubljana and practice your presentation.
b) Submit other work.
- Abstract size is limited to 2850 characters (incl. space characters, excluding authors, affiliations, acknowledgements) divided into:
- Introduction: 600
- Methods: 800
- Results/Discussion: 1000
- Conclusion: 450
- Language: English

Registration Fees
- For attendees of the EMIM 2026: free of charge, but still obligatory
- For non-EMIM attendees: 20€
Registration includes coffee breaks, lunch, access to all presentations, and endless networking opportunities.

Who we are and why you should join
WHY? Enjoy a unique environment for Spanish and Portuguese early-career imaging scientists to engage with peers and leaders in the field. Create, enlarge, and establish a strong community, foster collaborations, disseminate and enjoy the infinite possibilities of imaging science. This year, you will also contribute to the creation of the Portuguese Molecular Imaging Network, strengthening Iberian scientific ties and supporting a long-term collaborative group.
WHO? The ySMIN (pre-EMIM) Day is organized by Spanish young ESMI Group and thus, the focus is on young(er) investigators, but participation is in no way limited to early-carrer scientists.
WHO WE ARE? We are the young Spanish Molecular Imaging Community – ySMIN: a young, pioneering imaging science community in Spain who promotes the formation of a strong national network of young(-er) imaging scientists. ySMIN is a youngESMI group and embedded into the international envirnomnet of the European Society for Molecular Imaging – ESMI . Thus, all ySMIN activities are organized under the umbrella of the ESMI.
We are particularly offering MSc/PhD students and early career post-docs an easy and informal entry into the broader international imaging community. In this sense, ySMIN pursue to attract already young imaging scientists to the “mother” society – the ESMI.
