Annually the society offers two awards acknowledging outstanding scientific contributions to the field of imaging science:
ESMI Award
The ESMI Award is presented to an excellent scientist for their outstanding long-term contribution to the interdisciplinary research in Imaging Science. The nominee must have contributed significantly to the knowledge in this field.
ESMI PhD Award
The ESMI Award for an Excellent PhD Thesis is the society’s most prestigious distinction for early-career researchers. It not only recognises outstanding scientific achievement, but also highlights the impact and visibility of doctoral research within the broad field of imaging science.
